1. DoTerra oils, my sister got me lavender, clary sage and serenity for Christmas and I am in love with them! especially the lavender. I use it multiple times a day, in the morning I mix it with my moisturizer and put it on my face, I rub it in with lotion on my feet at night, I rub it on my temples, behind my ears and the back of my neck to relieve stress or a head ache. It helps me relax at night, I also put it in my bath water! unfortunately Zac cant stand the stuff...wahh wahhhh waahhh. But that doesn't stop me.
2. A pregnancy pillow. Zac actually surprised me with this one night, it helps me sleep so much better. It supports my belly, back and gives me something to put between my knees instead of using three pillows this one works perfectly!
3. Cocoa butter lotion. Or any lotion really, I also love amber blush by bath and body works. I rub lotion over my entire body daily, but since being pregnant I rub cocoa butter lotion on my stomach every time I remember to and I haven't seen a stretch mark thus far! (38 weeks). I don't now if its the lotion, or all the water I have been drinking or just genes in general but I think its worth using.
4. Bubble bath. I take a bubble bath 3-4 times a week! Pregnancy is hard on your body! My back...my feet....my calves! Nothing sooths my aching body like a warm bath (with lavender and or clary sage oil of course)
5. Heat pack. I use a heat pack on my back every night! There is A LOT more weight up front now and it takes a toll on my back, I have a home made heat pack that one of my aunts gave me...forever ago and it basically saves my life. Whenever I am home lying around or trying to sleep I use this.
6. Leggings. I don't know what my deal is with maternity clothes but I still refuse to buy them and I only have like 2 weeks left anyway so there really is no point. I just can't bring myself to do it. I also think that if I buy maternity clothes I wont be as motivated to get back into shape/my skinny jeans cause I would be just fine in my maternity pants. It's a personal preference, and I do not prefer maternity clothes, which is why I wear leggings and t-shirts, nothing wrong with that if you ask me!
7. Tylenol. I went through 2/3 of my pregnancy without any medicine because well...you cant really take any! I wasn't in a lot of pain either so there simply was no need but then my third trimester greeted me with strep throat and a wisdom tooth coming in. It was torture! thank goodness tylenol is safe to use during pregnancy! it is my fall back if my heating pack and essential oils dont work then I will use tylenol to ease any pain I have.
8. Berry tums. I remember hating tums as a kid, they tasted bad, the texture was chalky and awful. When I started getting heart burn I tried so hard to play it off, I switched up my diet even but nothing seemed to work! the alternative was prescribed medicine which is way more expensive. One of my sisters recommended these tums to me and now I can't leave the house with out them! they actually taste good and the texture doesn't bother me at all, they are like a giant smartie.
9. Massage. My mom got me a massage for Christmas and I feel like a new woman! It was like the second trimester all over again. I didn't have any aches and pains for a couple of blissful days. Massage Envy charges $50 for a massage, if you can I highly recommend getting one! It's different to have a professional massage you rather than your husband I promise! (although those massages from our husbands are much appreciated!)
10. Raisins and Ice cream. My personal favorite snacks. I pretty much always have a box of raisins in my purse and I never turn down a soft served ice cream cone from macey's. But I only like my ice cream from maceys, no where else compares.
11. A good water bottle. Drinking water is so important, especially when you are pregnant. I could never keep track of a plastic bottle and it didnt keep my water cold all day anyway so I bought a good water bottle and it has honestly helped me drink more water through out the day.
12. Baby center app. If you don't have this app download it right now! I got it the day I found out I was pregnant. The daily info/tips and weekly updates about your baby are so helpful in my opinion plus it gives you activities, checklists and videos to watch as well. And its free so....why not!?
